A traditional medium spiced chili with nutritious black beans and south of the border spices makes this a sure hit with chili lovers. Add crushed tomatoes, ground meat and simmer for a hearty meal. Leftovers make a fantastic taco salad!

Makes 2 Quarts: 6-8 servings Cook Time: 90 minutes

Cooking Instructions

Additions:
3 cups water
3/4 lb. ground beef
2 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
1 (14.5 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon salt
optional sour cream (to garnish)

To Prepare:
1.Rinse beans. Place in 2" water in large pot & bring to boil for 10 minutes. Remove from heat & soak for 1 hour.
2.Drain and rinse beans; return to pot with water, soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Bring to boil. Reduce heat, simmer for 90 minutes.
3.Brown beef, add to mixture with crushed tomatoes. Cook an additional 30 minutes until beans are soft.

Blacksmith's Black Bean Chili pairs well with fresh cornbread and a dollop of sour cream. Add salsa & shredded pepper jack cheese for a spicy twist!
